Not that I didnt like them before, I just like them a lot now.

I saw one with similar mods to the one above and a nice sounding exhaust. Ever since then I've wanted one. I'd paint the roof body color but that's just me.

They are nice, my sister and sister-in-law are owners, but for the money you're better off with a 100 series Land Cruiser...just my opinion as an FZJ80 owner

In stock form I feel that they look a bit off.
With real off road mods (not bro'd out), they're pretty badass.

I've never been off-roading before so it's unlikely I'd get one.
I like FZJ80's a lot. I've wanted to pick one up for winters for a while but I can't find many near me.

I got passed by one today, it was set up for overlanding, complete with lift, lights, roof rack, winch, and snorkel. The want was strong

Since it doesn't break every time it sees anything that resembles grass, dirt, gravel, and concrete, I'll take the disadvantage.

Err, since when do Wranglers break? I had a XJ Cherokee and that thing was a tank.

Cherokee's tend to be as long as they are not rear ended. I had multiple friends with Wranglers, they literally were driveable 3 months out of the year if they were even used somewhat how they should. Granted, the engine always started, so they had that going for them.

This is also my opinion as a 100 owner. :)

"Cherokee's tend to be as long as they are not rear ended." So you expect cars to be tanks after they're rear ended?!
Also I know wranglers aren't the best in snow, but I had a few friends that rocked them year round in Michigan. Nothing like snow drifting in the winter, mudding in the spring, and then hitting up silver lake sand dunes in the summer. Good times man.

I didn't mean in snow. I lived in Alabama. They were just broken that much. What I meant by the Cherokee comment, is now days a rear end collision in a Cherokee is pretty much an automatic total loss. Because of the unibody, they aren't worth fixing monetarily. Which also makes finding a clean one difficult.

I like Wranglers. I just could never own one, I'm not sure why. I also think the quirkyness of the FJ is a bonus.

I'm not trying to be an ass, but I've never heard of wranglers being unreliable. I have no idea what the hell happened to all of your friends wranglers. And the only that makes finding a clean cherokee difficult is they can get a little rusty up here. But then again every car does.

As I said, they start every time, but every time it touches something that is not pavement it's something else in the driveline or suspension. Whether it's a hub, axle, diff, leaf spring failure, and anything else that could go wrong down there, it happens. Literally the only thing I've broken offroad was my front drive shaft, but that was mainly because I was a 16 year old dumbass that thought hitting a steep terrace in a field at 45 was a good idea.
